1. Digital Printing
Digital Printing technologies enable you to print lower quantities, because the setup charge is considerably lower as the print is produced direct from the computer. As the quantity requirements become higher, ink costs become a key factor for digital printing and the time it takes to produce high volume printed material takes much longer than a litho printer. The main other restriction is paper quality. Digital Printers can only print on low GSM paper stocks.
The key benefits are however that you can have fewer quantity runs, at a much lower cost.
2. Litho Printing (CMYK)
Firstly 4 cromalin plates are produced of your artwork, this is costly and increases the setup time of printing your job. Because the setup charge is higher, this means that Litho printing only becomes more competitive on higher quantity jobs. This enables our printers on higher quantity runs to run the printer at a much cheaper cost and much faster.
The key benefits are that you can have higher quantity runs, at a much lower cost, and your finished materials are more photographic like, than a conventional digital printer. Litho Printers can also print on better stocks of paper or card, giving you a much higher quality finish than you would get from digital printing.
Ellison Marketing supply both types of printing depending on your budget and your finish print requirements.
